January: It feels really good to have a new start in the midst of constant chaos. Nothing feels better after deep cleaning and putting away the holiday decorations (which is a little sad), but things feel so fresh afterwards. Even though many things carry over into the new year, it still helps me mentally to turn the page and literally start a new notebook or calendar.
If there’s anything else I’ve learned from 2020, it’s that I can’t have expectations for what’s to come this year. I’m not putting a ton of pressure on myself to have big goals, other than continuing to action on what makes me happy. And to always keep learning.
So for this month, I’m focusing on staying inside and cozying up for the winter. There will be lots of reading, listening to podcasts, organizing and planning for our future home.
I do have a couple of areas in the apartment I want to change. Since getting our Christmas tree, we like how we rearranged the couch and we want to keep it that way by adding another lamp in our living room area. So we’ll see how that goes!
I also want to get some kitchen items and extend our kitchen counter space to one of our side tables. I’ve already started to add bowls of fruits + vegetables there, but I want to add a couple of wooden cutting boards and this iron candle stand.
WINTER INTERIORS EDIT
Ease into this month and this year. Here’s to a better year for all of us.
xx Christine
